Publishing Administration

Every stream, every broadcast, every sync, every performance: your music earns royalties. Our job is to make sure every penny reaches you.

What Publishing Administration Covers

Global Society Registration

CGM collects and prepares your catalog metadata; SESAC — CGM's publishing administration partner — registers your works with PRS, ASCAP, SOCAN, APRA, and international collection societies through their institutional infrastructure, ensuring mechanical and performance royalties are collected in every territory.

ISWC & Database Management

Every original composition is assigned an International Standard Works Code and entered correctly into publisher databases. This is the foundation of all royalty collection; without it, societies cannot match your works to payments.

Active Royalty Pursuit

We do not wait for royalties to arrive. We actively monitor and follow up on unclaimed and underpaid royalties across all channels, including historical claims for back catalog. Many of our clients are surprised by what was already owed to them.

Sync Licensing Support

For placements in film, TV, advertising, and games, we manage licensing administration and ensure synchronisation fees and performance royalties are fully collected, from production through to broadcast.

Publishing Infrastructure

CGM's publishing administration is delivered in partnership with SESAC, a major performing rights organisation with institutional relationships across international collection societies. Clients benefit from SESAC's registration infrastructure without needing to manage it themselves.

CCLI Registration

CGM holds its own CCLI publisher portal and account, enabling direct registration of worship songs — not coordination. For gospel and Christian artists, this means active collection of church licensing royalties that most independent artists do not know they are owed.

How It Works

  1. 01

    Catalog Audit

We begin with a full review of your existing catalog, identifying registered and unregistered works, missing identifiers, and any royalties already in the collection pipeline.

  2. 02

    Society Registration

CGM prepares and submits your catalog metadata to SESAC, who register your works with the relevant collection societies — PRS for Music, MCPS, ASCAP, SOCAN, APRA, and others — based on your territory and genre.

  3. 03

    Royalty Monitoring

We track your earnings across all channels on an ongoing basis: streaming, radio airplay, live performance, sync placements, and mechanical royalties from downloads and physical sales.

  4. 04

    Distribution & Reporting

Collected royalties are passed to you with transparent, itemised statements so you can see exactly what was earned, where, and when.

Publishing Administration: Common Questions

What collection societies do you register with?+

CGM's publishing administration is delivered through its partnership with SESAC, a major performing rights organisation. SESAC registers your works with the relevant collection societies based on your territory and genre — including PRS for Music (UK), MCPS, ASCAP (USA), SOCAN (Canada), APRA AMCOS (Australia/New Zealand), GEMA (Germany), SACEM (France), and other international equivalents. For worship and gospel compositions, CGM has its own CCLI publisher portal for direct registration and church licensing royalty collection.

How long does publishing administration take to set up?+

Initial registration and setup typically takes 2–4 weeks depending on your catalog size and which societies are involved. Some societies have processing times outside our control, but we manage the entire process on your behalf and keep you updated throughout.

Can you claim back royalties I've already missed?+

In many cases, yes. Collection societies hold undistributed royalties for varying periods; PRS for Music retains unclaimed royalties for up to 7 years in some cases. We conduct a full historical audit and pursue any claims that are still actionable. Many new clients receive a meaningful first payment from back-catalog royalties they were unaware of.

Do I need to be signed to a label to use your publishing administration service?+

No. Our publishing administration service is specifically designed for independent artists who retain their own rights. You do not need to be signed to any label or publisher. You simply need to be the rights holder (or an authorised representative) for the works you want us to administer.

What is your fee structure for publishing administration?+

CGM retains 15% of publishing royalties collected on your behalf. There are no upfront fees and no monthly retainers. CGM only earns when you earn.
